Yangshuo via ferrata is a 3–4 hour guided cliff route — iron rungs, suspension bridges and a zip-line fixed into the karst — from $55–$75 per person, suitable from age 8 with no climbing experience required. Certified guides, CE/UIAA safety gear and a maximum of 10 people per guide.
Via ferrata — Italian for “iron road” — is a style of mountain route where iron rungs, cables, ladders, and bridges are permanently fixed into the rock face, allowing anyone to traverse terrain that would otherwise require technical climbing skill.
Yangshuo’s karst cliffs are a spectacular setting for via ferrata. You’ll clip into a safety cable at all times, ascend iron rungs drilled directly into the limestone face, cross a swaying suspension bridge above the valley, and finish with a zip-line descent back to the ground. Views from the cliff face — karst towers in every direction across the Guilin & Yangshuo region — are genuinely unforgettable.
There is no technical skill required. If you can climb a ladder and walk across a suspension bridge, you can do via ferrata. The guide manages all the safety systems; your job is to enjoy the exposure and take in the view. Groups regularly include first-timers of all ages who finish wanting to go straight back up.

Drinking water and energy snacks at the start and finish. The route itself is typically 2–3 hours of active movement.
🚐 Transport is not included in the activity price. Add a private return transfer with hotel pickup and drop-off — $15–30 for a 4-seater or$20–35 for a 6-seater from Yangshuo town, confirmed when you book, since the fare varies with the distance to each site. Or make your own way there and meet your guide on site — DiDi (China's Uber) works well and is good value.
